Jason International (Kenya) Limited tans goat and sheep skins at the Kenya Leather Industrial Park. We are part of the PHISS Leather Group, headquartered in Hong Kong, with tanneries and branch companies across Africa.
About us
A tannery built for Kenya's skins
Kenya raises large herds of goats and sheep, yet much of their value leaves the country as raw skin. We set up in Kenya to tan those skins here, close to the farmers and traders who supply them, and to create skilled factory work for Kenyans.
Our plant occupies two 5,000 m² units at the Kenya Leather Industrial Park in Kinanie, Machakos County, on the Nairobi–Mombasa corridor. The park was developed by the Kenyan government for the leather sector, with shared infrastructure for tanneries.
Production starts in January 2027 with goat and sheep wet-blue, and from the end of 2027 we will add crust and finished leather from goat, sheep and cow.

Chrome-tanned skins, sorted by grade and size, for group tanneries and for leather makers in Asia.

Retanned and dyed crust leather, dried and ready for finishing by shoe and leather goods factories.

Suede and shoe upper leather from goat and sheep, and finished cow leather for footwear.
Local sourcing
We buy skins directly from Kenyan traders, slaughterhouses and collection centres, and pay for quality.
Local skills
We hire and train Kenyan staff on the shop floor and in management, alongside experienced group technicians.
Responsible tanning
We follow Kenyan environmental rules and the practices of our group, whose companies are certified by the Leather Working Group.

PHISS is headquartered in Hong Kong and has worked in African leather for twenty years. Its tanneries and branch companies across the continent produce wet-blue and finished leather for customers in China, India and Europe. Kenya is the group's newest operation.
